Description

• Assess patients across various age groups, utilizing standardized testing and observational methods to gauge their needs.
• Create individualized treatment plans that target both immediate and long-term goals related to communication, cognitive abilities, or swallowing.
• Deliver personalized speech therapy focused on communication skills, language acquisition, fluency, voice control, and swallowing techniques.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members, to develop comprehensive care strategies.
• Educate patients and their families to support ongoing progress outside of clinical visits.
• Participate in the occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy interventions to ensure thorough and consistent care throughout the recovery journey.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation that follows all relevant state, federal, and organizational protocols.
• Stay abreast of developments in the field through ongoing education and cooperative learning with peers.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Therapist.
• Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
