Server – Senior Living Dining Team Server At MBK Senior Living is a part‑time position (6:30AM–1:30PM) with the possibility to transition to full‑time. Pay starts at $15.50 DOE. Job Summary The Server is responsible for delivering exceptional dining service to residents, ensuring a pleasant and safe environment, and maintaining high standards of food presentation and table etiquette. The role includes room service, meal tracking, and support for kitchen and dining operations. Responsibilities Deliver high‑quality dining service by accurately taking orders and serving visually appealing meals to residents, families, and guests. Maintain table etiquette: serve from the left, clear courses, reset tables, and ensure customer satisfaction. Engage residents in a friendly manner, assist with meal and menu selections, and meet dining needs as requested. Review and adhere to residents' dietary restrictions and preferences per the care plan. Track resident meal attendance and communicate promptly for safety checks on absent residents. Create a welcoming atmosphere by greeting and seating residents, especially new residents. Deliver meals to and retrieve trays from residents’ rooms for room service when required. Maintain a clean, sanitary dining area—including tables, chairs, and serving stations—and comply with food safety protocols. Clean and reset the dining area, return dishes, fold napkins, restock supplies, and manage inventory of food and condiments. Assist with delivery unpacking, stock storage, dishwashing, and other kitchen duties as needed. Support community marketing through positive interactions, appropriate grooming, and behavior. Cooperate with kitchen and dining staff to ensure residents enjoy a positive dining experience. Report safety or equipment issues to the Supervisor immediately. Uphold safety standards, following policies and procedures for staff, residents, and guests. Promote teamwork, open communication, and utilize mentoring and coaching programs. Perform additional duties as directed by Lead, Supervisor, Director of Dining Services, or designee. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED) – highly preferred. Exposure to restaurant operations or the ability to learn quickly. Minimum 18years of age (or valid work permit and authorization). Successful completion of background clearance, health screening, and a negative TB test within 7 days of employment (within the last 6months). Basic counting and tracking skills (e.g., meal and resident attendance). Excellent English communication skills (speaking, writing, reading). Ability to operate standard serving equipment (salad bar, heating cart, trays). Professional, tactful interaction with personnel, residents, families, guests, vendors, and the public. License to serve food – Food Handler Certification (state‑specific). Physical Demands & Work Environment Mobile with ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, reach overhead, perform repetitive motion, and lift up to 50lb. May need to push up to 250lb.
