Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position at a 250-bed academic community hospital in Danville, VA, requiring at least 1 year of experience and AHA certifications.

Details

• Work on a 24-bed Med/Surg unit (Floor 5A) in an academic community hospital setting
• Patient population includes all age groups
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• EMR system: Meditech
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend or as needed
• 13-week contract
• Floating required as needed
• On-call required as needed

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), Handling With Care (HWC), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — all must be AHA-issued and in hand prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; 2+ years of Med/Surg experience preferred
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• The facility is a designated Chest Pain Center and Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center, accredited by the American College of Cardiology and American College of Surgeons
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• Candidates who have worked permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates may not be employed elsewhere full time
• Random drug screening consent and completion of a Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form are required
• Scrub color: any; casual wear is not permitted
