Resident Engineer- Construction ITS/Lighting

This OpportunityWSP is seeking a Resident Engineer - Construction ITS/Lighting for the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel (HRBT) Expansion Project in Virginia. This position will be responsible with overseeing intelligent transportation system construction activities on this high profile multi-billion dollar project, which is the largest project in VDOT history. Be involved in projects with our Construction Management Team at the HRBT Expansion project and a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.Your ImpactJob Description:Responsible for construction oversight and audits of ITS and, Lighting and Utility construction. Tasks may include:Serves as a senior representative and provides practical expertise in construction aspects of the development and delivery of ITSLeads a team of inspector and construction engineersLeads oversight of ITS construction activities for complianceEffectively communicate and coordinate with Contractor and QA/QC representativesReviews and updates summaries and reports, and reviews inspection reports for completeness Track and document quality, construction, and schedule issues and assist with issues resolutionTrack and document contract quantities, changes, and delays and QAQC processesProvides technical assistance to inspectors and may participate in Hold Point inspectionsFocus on quality, construction, and production issues at multiple locationsInteract with contractors and clients in a confident and professional mannerWho You Are Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in Construction, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience Licensed Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia, or ability to obtain within 6 monthsMinimum of 12 years of relevant post education experience in construction management and inspection of ITSKnowledge of construction means, methods, techniques, and inspection practices Demonstrated experience in similar roles on complex infrastructure projects and the design-build delivery methodValid state driver’s licenseMust successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening. This role is subject to a client-mandated background check and finger printing.
