Patient Access Specialist

Description

SCHEDULE: Full-time; 36 hours per week

The Patient Access Specialist maintains and updates computer scheduling files. Must be congenial and polite at all times in person and over the phone. He/she must be familiar with policies regarding scheduling of ancillary tests and appointments, maintaining current patient information and records, and maintaining strict confidentiality. Must be familiar with admitting, discharging, insurance forms, confidentiality of patient information and dealing with the general public. He/she adheres to the philosophy and mission of Myrtue Medical Center in aspects of job performance.

Requirements

General office experience preferred, but not required. Must have a thorough knowledge of the switchboard and filing system, all clinic policies and procedures to clinic office, and hospital scheduling protocol.


High school diploma or equivalent required. Secretarial training would be an asset, but not required.
