Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant OpportunityThis company is looking to add a Staff Accountant to their team with the intent of grooming and training them to eventually take over the firm. Firm currently is operating at a ratio of 60% Tax, 30% write up's, & 10% Audit work.Tax Associate Responsibilities:Organizing and analyzing clients' financial informationTaking advantage of opportunities to minimize tax liability through deductionsPreparing necessary forms for filing taxesAdvising clients about tax liabilities and other tax-related mattersFiling tax returns on paper or electronically on behalf of clientsEstablishing and updating client recordsKeeping abreast of current IRS and state and local tax rules and regulations and ensuring full complianceAssisting with audits by gathering financial information and meeting with auditors as neededTax Associate Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in AccountingCPA preferred or eligible2+ years of proven experience in public accountingAnalytical skills to review financial informationArithmetic and accounting skills to correctly complete tax formsStrong written and oral communication skills to explain information to clientsExtensive knowledge of IRS rules and regulations as well as state and local tax lawsFamiliarity with tax preparation and accounting software and electronic tax filing systemsMultitasking skills to handle multiple clients' tax preparations at the same timeOrganizational skills to maintain clean recordsStrong time management skills to complete work within strict deadlinesTax Associate Compensation:$70,000-$100,000To be considered, please apply with a resume.
