Job Title Assistant Director, Athletic Training Job Description The Assistant Director, Athletic Training is a member of the OSU Sports Performance team which serves to create an environment where all student athletes involved in the intercollegiate athletic program at Ohio State receive the best medical care possible. This position coordinates and provides health care and comprehensive athletic training services to student-athletes in their assigned sports. The role provides prevention, clinical evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries under the direction of the managing team physician and athletic training supervisor. The Assistant Director serves as a resource for student-athletes regarding their health and wellness, and is the primary point of contact for physicians, coaches, and the sports performance team. Responsibilities include supervising Staff Athletic Trainers and/or Intern Athletic Trainers, hiring, goal setting, performance management, professional development, and ongoing guidance and support. Under the direction of an athletic training leader, the Assistant Director will serve as a subject matter expert in an identified specialization, developing and providing communications and education related to the specialization. The role maintains accurate injury and treatment records, provides injury rehabilitation programs, and implements changes in accordance with best practices. The Assistant Director consults with strength and conditioning staff to modify conditioning activities to prevent injury, establishes and monitors return-to-play progression, and provides home and away competition coverage as assigned, including support at Big Ten and NCAA championship events. Related administrative tasks and other duties are performed as required. Minimum Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree. State of Ohio Athletic Trainer license and National Athletic Trainers' Association certification.
