Associate Director, Quantitative System Pharmacology

DescriptionAt Viridian Therapeutics, we are focused on developing best-in-class medicines for people living with autoimmune and rare diseases. Leveraging our team’s expertise in antibody discovery and engineering, we have created a robust pipeline of differentiated investigational therapeutic candidates for well-validated targets.Reporting to the VP of Clinical Pharmacology & Pharmacometrics, the Associate Director, Quantitative System Pharmacology (QSP), will contribute to the Model-informed Drug Development (MIDD) strategy and execution across preclinical, translational and clinical stage programs.This role may be based in our Waltham, MA headquarters, which would be a hybrid role, or it can also be fully remote. Our office-based employees are required to work in the office three (3) days a week. If remote, travel to headquarters for meetings would be required at the discretion of management.Responsibilities(including, but not limited to):Understand and execute the “fit-for-purpose” MIDD strategy to accelerate the program advancementExperience with QSP or (m)PBPK modeling in autoimmune or inflammation for biologicals (ie, monoclonal antibodies, or other modalities), and bring forward combination drug approaches leveraging QSP models to advance clinical trialsProvide (semi)mechanistic modelling & simulation support and expertise to the assigned programsSurvey literature to gain “fit-for-purpose" understanding of preclinical and/or clinical physiological, pathological, and disease state, to enable quantitative system pharmacology modeling and simulationWork in close collaboration with biologists, discovery chemistry, clinical pharmacologists, pharmacometricians and other functions to improve our understanding of disease mechanisms, modalities, and/or mono-therapy and combination therapyMaintain quantitative systems pharmacology expertise in the fieldCommunicate the QSP/(m)PBPK results to across-function program teamQualifications: Requires a PhD degree or equivalent with a minimum of 6+ years of combined academic and biotechnology or pharmaceutical experience in QSP/T, (m)PBPK, mathematics, chemical/biomedical engineer, physics, and/or Translational Sciences, including experience with therapeutic antibodiesDemonstrated success contributing preclinical or translational, and clinical pharmacology related aspects across different stages of programsPrior experience in QSP(T) with in-depth knowledge of mechanistic modelling and data interpretation, as well as track record supporting this experienceIndependent hands-n proficiency in MATLAB/Simbiology, MoBI, GastroPlus/PK-Sim, R, or other softwareAbility to effectively present ideas, data interpretation, for complex quantitative clinical concepts in both written and oral communicationHighly motivated and results-driven to deliver for corporate goals in a dynamic biotech environmentDemonstrated strong written and verbal communication skillsProven mindset of proactive continuous improvementEfficient independent worker with ability to focus and drive for resultsStrong attention to detailAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and to handle multiple tasksStrong commitment to ethical standardsProficient with Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.)The salary range for this position is commensurate with experienceViridian offers a comprehensive benefits package including:Competitive pay and stock options for all employeesMedical, dental, and vision insurance100% Paid Parental Leave Short- and long-term disability coverageLife, Travel and AD&D401(k) Company Match with immediate company vestEmployee Stock Purchase planGenerous vacation plan and paid company holiday shutdownsVarious fertility, mental, financial, and proactive physical health programsViridian Therapeutics, Inc. provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination, harassment, or retaliation of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by Federal, State, and Local laws.
