Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)- Weekend Option

UVA Department of Anesthesiology utilizes and embraces the 'Anesthesia Team care model', involving anesthesiologists, CRNAs, residents, SRNAs, and anesthesia technologists. The CRNA is a critical team member administering general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care.

Be part of a High-Autonomy Practice in a growing surgical program. UVA Health's University Medical Center is expanding Perioperative Services and is seeking Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) to support extendedhour operating room coverage, Saturday elective programs, and sustained OR growth across multiple surgical sites.

This expansion is a core component of UVA Health's bridge strategy through 2027, enabling increased surgical access while transitioning from incentivebased anesthesia coverage to a stable, employed CRNA workforce.

CRNAs at UVA Health practice within a collaborative Anesthesia Care Team model at a nationally recognized academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center, with a key differentiator being a high autonomy practice environment that allows CRNAs to work at the top of their license.

The Role

At UVA Health, CRNAs are trusted clinical partners with meaningful independence in anesthesia delivery and decisionmaking. This role offers the opportunity to practice in a highacuity academic environment while maintaining autonomy, flexibility, and longterm career stability.

Weekend Program Commitment :

• For 0.9 FTE option - Shift requirements are Friday, Saturday, Monday; these shifts are 12 hours per day
• For 0.6 FTE option - Shift requirements are Friday, Saturday, or Friday, Monday, or Saturday, Monday; these shifts are 12 hours per day
• Weekend commitment is 46/52 weekends per year in order to qualify for the program.

CRNAs provide anesthesia care across a diverse and complex case mix, including:

• Main Operating Room (highacuity, Level I Trauma)
• Outpatient and ambulatory surgery centers (OCIR, SCR)
• Endoscopy and procedural suites
• Offsite and nonOR anesthesia (NORA) locations

Weekend Program Compensation Benefits Highlights

Full time and part time WP providers will be eligible for the weekend shift differential of $50/hour for all weekend shifts

WP providers are eligible for weekend shift differential and holiday premium pay as defined in Medical Center policy

WP providers receive the 'Weekend Program Premium' for all hours worked in the WP program only - Healthcare Professional Weekend Program Premium is $10/hour

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Master of Science in Nursing from accredited nursing program or eligible to practice as a CRNA in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Experience: No experience required

Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia required.

• Licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Virginia required.

• Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in the Commonwealth of Virginia required.

• American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires sitting for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: (squeezing an ambu bag). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs and lift/push/pull > 100lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, cold, heat, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

The starting base rate for this role is $100.96 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
