Lead Dog Runner $45/hr run) Eastside Dog Walking is searching for a lead dog runner! In one year our company has seen over 250% growth in monthly revenue, with over an 70x return on every dollar spent on advertising. We had to stop paying for ads just to keep up with demand, and our owner is averaging 15 miles walked daily. Now our primary focus is expanding our presence across the eastside and supporting you : our first official dog runner. We're incredibly excited to support you as our first hire, as we expand our dog exercise footprint across the eastside. An ideal applicant is capable of putting in 15-20+ miles a day across 5 one hour runs. Not right away, so don't be deterred if you're not quite there. This is a contract to hire position and we'll be supporting only you with a large marketing budget. For the right applicant: this represents an opportunity to slowly build confidence in dog running, with the goal of running for up to 5-6 hours a day. Are you: A runner that wants to run full time? Who You'll Serve You'll be running with working dogs without a job, who have been under-stimulated or relegated to large backyards. It's not enough, and your first run with the dogs will be the only sales pitch needed! You'll serve busy professionals, retirees and everyone in between. Who You Are You're self-starting, open to coaching, and ask questions when you don't know the answer. You're passionate about animals (we're not gate keeping experience, but you need to sell yourself to us, clients, and their dogs). You can exude confidence when greeting dogs and owners. What's The Job? You'll be our first true dog runner! You'll be responsible for expanding our service offering from medium energy dogs to high energy working dogs, but of course you'll end up with a mix of all energy levels. I believe it will take us several months to build out a full time schedule , so you should be comfortable starting with a few clients and expanding into 5-6 hours of walks per day. Your day might start at 7am and you could be off by 4pm. You'll be on the receiving end of a marketing budget designed to secure you only well behaved high energy dogs that need to be run. You'll also be starting with existing clients that I simply can't accommodate in my current schedule (these clients will be cycled out when we hire a 2nd walker). That means you'll be comfortable taking a few walks instead of runs, while you're starting out. Requirements : Proof of tracked runs: ~15 min miles ~200 miles per month (show us what you've got!) Compassion for animals and enrichment You can interact appropriately with professional clientele and their families You’re extremely flexible to client and dog needs, and you can communicate with clients (traffic updates impacting ETA, scheduled vacations 6 months in advance, post run texts with video updates when requested) You can clearly articulate to us and clients your why. Our clients often ask what brought you into this industry, and this will be our opportunity to tell your unique journey into the industry. In our first interview: we will ask you this question as well and we will provide feedback on the story.
