Part-Time Teller

Gary, Merrillville and Valparaiso
Union Position

Position Summary

The Teller processes financial transactions accurately and efficiently while delivering exceptional member service. This role focuses on building relationships, identifying member needs, and recommending appropriate credit union products and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Process deposits, withdrawals, payments, and other financial transactions
• Provide professional, confidential member service
• Engage members in solutions-based conversations about financial products
• Resolve member concerns courteously and efficiently
• Perform follow-up calls after new account openings
• Adhere to all security procedures and regulatory requirements (Reg CC, BSA, OFAC, SAR, CTR, Reg D, Red Flags)
• Maintain cash drawer accuracy and balancing standards

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 6 months’ retail sales and/or cash handling experience (financial institution experience preferred)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic keyboarding and Microsoft Office skills

Branch Schedule

Lobby Hours:

• Monday–Thursday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Saturday: 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM

Drive-Up Hours:

• Monday–Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Friday: 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM
• Saturday: 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM

Working hours will vary to accommodate opening and closing procedures.
Schedule will vary according to business needs.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including Saturdays.
