In-Office Position Overview Employment Type: Full-Time Main Location: 10604 Southwest Highway, Ste 200 Chicago Ridge, IL 60415 (other locations in Orland Park, IL & Downers Grove, IL) Join Gynecologic Cancer Institute of Chicago, A Division of Affiliated Oncologists as a Physician Assistant! GCI specializes in gynecologic oncology for women desiring treatment, including surgery and/or chemotherapy, in the suburbs of Chicago. Our AO colleagues specialize in treating a variety of cancers including lymphoma, lung, breast, prostate, colorectal and head and neck cancers. Our physicians and staff are a multi‑disciplinary team of highly experienced caregivers focused on helping patients and their families receive the best care and support possible. This position is open to candidates seeking 30-40 hours per week of work, hours may vary, who will be working with our gynecologic oncologists at our GCI locations. Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, involved in the care of individuals, families and patient groups who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnosis. This care may be in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine. Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, patient care, management, chemotherapy and research. May serve as direct caregiver, health care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher. Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Responsibilities Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients. Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated. Performs procedures after appropriate training. Assesses patient/family needs and provides education. Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs. Incorporates the developing knowledge of evidence‑based research into clinical practice. Developing knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements. Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion. May provide case management for patients and their families, given limited knowledge of community resources. May promote or provide staff education. Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals and weekend or after‑hour calls. Evaluation and management of gynecologic oncology chemotherapy patients. Evaluation and management of postoperative gynecologic oncology patients. Surveillance cancer care and pelvic exams for gynecologic oncology patients. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program required. Current NCCPA certification required. 0‑3 years of experience as a practicing Physician Assistant required. 3+ years of experience as a practicing Physician Assistant preferred. Previous experience in gynecologic oncology strongly preferred. Previous experience with chemotherapy strongly preferred. Current state license as a Physician Assistant in the practicing state required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
