Job Title Heart Monitoring Unit Internship - Non‑Invasive Cardiology Technologist EKG Tech (Third Shift) Schedule Pay rate: paid internship. Full‑Time: Three 12‑hour shifts per week (6:00PM – 6:30AM). Part‑Time: Two 12‑hour shifts per week (6:00PM – 6:30AM). All schedules include weekend requirements; schedules assigned ~1 month in advance. Full weekly flexibility required; recurring conflicts cannot be accommodated. On‑call shifts required after transition to full Non‑Invasive Cardiology Technologist role. Responsibilities Perform inpatient and outpatient EKGs (adult and pediatric). Apply and educate patients on Holter monitors and cardiac event recorders. Process returned monitors and support cardiac diagnostic workflows. Transcribe test results into the Electronic Health Record system. Engage in self‑study with provided educational materials and complete required tests. Study between performing EKGs and monitor placements. Qualifications High school education or equivalent. BLS certification from an AHA‑endorsed program. Ability to work on‑call shifts. Completion of internal training program within 6 months of hire. Successful completion of required tests and the Non‑Invasive Cardiology Technologist entrance exam within 6 months of hire. Preferred: two years experience in EKG; medical experience; college courses in physiology, anatomy, or related subjects; Associate of Science degree; graduate of an accredited school of allied health/technology.
