Tower Engineering Group (TEG) is seeking an organized, motivated entry-level Civil Engineer or Construction Management graduate to join our growing team in Chicago.

This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting transportation infrastructure projects for the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) and other public agencies. Unlike traditional field engineering positions, this role is primarily office-based and focuses on construction management, project coordination, documentation, scheduling, and project administration.

Working directly with experienced project managers and professional engineers, you'll develop valuable skills that serve as the foundation for a career in transportation construction and project management.

What You'll Do

• Support Project Managers with the day-to-day administration of transportation construction projects.
• Review and organize contractor submittals, RFIs, drawings, and change orders.
• Assist with project scheduling, tracking milestones, and maintaining project documentation.
• Prepare meeting minutes, project correspondence, and progress reports.
• Coordinate with CDOT staff, contractors, utility companies, and consulting engineers.
• Monitor project budgets, schedules, and document control.
• Assist with contract administration and project closeout activities.
• Help prepare project exhibits, spreadsheets, presentations, and reports.
• Support proposal preparation and business development efforts when needed.
• Perform other engineering and project coordination duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

• Internship or co-op experience in construction or transportation engineering.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or Procore.
• Interest in transportation infrastructure and public works.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain.
