Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Play a key role in shaping student success as a contract Special Education Teacher supporting a 4th-grade cross-categorical classroom. In this position, you will help students with diverse academic, behavioral, communication, adaptive, and functional needs make meaningful progress. You’ll provide instruction aligned to grade-level standards, while tailoring approaches to each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) and specific learning goals.

The classroom environment is highly supportive, featuring a dedicated program aide and additional 1:1 support staff as needed to meet individual student requirements. You will work closely with related service professionals and utilize a variety of structured teaching strategies, visual supports, sensory tools, and behavioral interventions throughout the day. Your role is fundamental in fostering academic growth, social-emotional skills, and communication development.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification recognized in Illinois
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs for elementary-age students
• Familiarity with cross-categorical or multi-categorical programming
• Ability to utilize visual, behavioral, sensory, and communication supports effectively
• Strong collaboration skills with aides and multidisciplinary teams
• Passion for supporting students with a variety of learning, communication, and behavioral needs

Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction tailored to both grade-level expectations and individualized IEP goals
• Integrate specialized strategies and supports into daily teaching
• Maintain thorough data and documentation for student progress
