Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Napa, California. This position involves providing immediate postpartum care to mothers and newborns in an acute care hospital setting. The role requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and efficient delivery procedures and postpartum management.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid California license, BLS certification, NRP certification, 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery, experience with electronic charting using Epic, ability to float within the facility, and willingness to work weekends and major holidays.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior community hospital experience, trauma level II certification preferred.
• Float: Float rotation may be required between units and affiliated facilities.
• Additional Information:
  • Orientation hours: 40 hours
  • Patient age group: Adults
  • Daily census: 2-3 patients
  • Number of visits per day: 15
  • Number of beds: 5
  • Special procedures required: Sterile vaginal exams, fetal monitoring, postpartum recovery, neonatal resuscitation, and breastfeeding support.
  • Patient diagnoses include labor, postpartum, and neonatal care.
  • The traveler must be available to work two out of three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year).
  • Copy of certifications required, and two references covering a minimum of one year within the past three years are mandatory prior to start.
