Make a significant impact in students’ lives as a school counselor supporting K-5th graders within a welcoming educational environment near Kansas City, KS. This engaging, onsite contract opportunity offers full-time hours for the 2026-2027 academic year, allowing you to split your expertise between elementary and intermediate buildings.

In this role, you’ll foster students' academic, emotional, and social development, providing both individual and group counseling services, as well as classroom guidance lessons. Your skills will be essential in crisis response situations and actively participating in IEP meetings, ensuring all students receive the encouragement and direction they need to thrive.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Kansas (K-12) school counselor license is required
• Experience working with elementary and intermediate-level students strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to deliver both individual and group counseling
• Familiarity with developing and implementing classroom guidance curricula
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for teamwork with staff, students, and families
• Capable of functioning in crisis response roles and contributing to IEP teams

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct counseling services to students grades K-5 in both individual and small group settings
• Lead classroom guidance lessons focusing on academics, social skills, and emotional wellness
• Support and participate in school-wide crisis response efforts as needed
• Attend and contribute insights at IEP meetings
• Build trusting relationships with students, faculty, and families
