You’ll work in a dynamic, collaborative environment while helping shape the future of advanced manufacturing.PositionSenior Manager, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering – IndustrialLocationUSA, Louisville, KYHow You'll Create PossibilitiesLead & Strategize: Develop and implement the vision for industrial controls engineering, ensuring alignment with GE Appliances’ manufacturing and business objectives.Manage Complex Projects: Oversee the execution of electrical controls and automation projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, technical performance, and quality excellence.Drive Technical Excellence: Serve as the subject matter expert in industrial controls, PLC/HMI systems, electrical architectures, networking, and machine safety, driving standardization and optimization across manufacturing facilities.Mentor & Develop Talent: Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers, fostering technical growth, innovation, and strong project execution.Standardize & Integrate: Establish and maintain controls standards, design practices, and validation processes for manufacturing equipment and systems across multiple sites.Collaborate & Communicate: Partner with project teams, plant operations, suppliers, and leadership to align priorities, resolve technical issues, and ensure successful implementation of controls solutions.Enhance Efficiency & Safety: Apply Lean principles and Human Organizational Performance (HOP) strategies to improve manufacturing processes while prioritizing operator safety, machine reliability, and regulatory compliance.Support Innovation: Evaluate and implement emerging controls technologies, including advanced diagnostics, connected systems, smart devices, and secure industrial network architectures.What You'll Bring to Our TeamRequirements and Qualifications:Experience: 10+ years of hands-on experience in industrial controls engineering, with a strong focus on electrical systems, PLC-based automation, and manufacturing equipment integration.Education: Technical degree in Engineering or a related field. Advanced degrees preferred.Technical Skills: Deep expertise in PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and industrial networking systems. Strong working knowledge of platforms such as Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, and GE/Emerson controls environments. Experience with electrical schematics, panel design, field devices, and machine safety systems required.Industry Experience: Experience working with OEMs, system integrators, and suppliers supporting industrial automation and controls implementation in manufacturing environments.Project Management: Proven track record managing large-scale controls and automation projects, including specification development, supplier oversight, commissioning, debugging, and equipment qualification.Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to a wide range of audiences.Travel: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required (20–30%).Preferred Qualifications:Master’s Degree in EngineeringSix Sigma Certification (Green Belt, Black Belt, or Master Black Belt)Experience with industrial software and controls platforms such as Proficy, RSLogix/Studio 5000, FactoryTalk, TIA Portal, WinCC, or SIMATICFamiliarity with industrial cybersecurity, safety PLCs, and standards related to electrical controls and machine safetyWork Environment & Expectations:Manufacturing environment with exposure to heavy equipmentOccasional off-shift and weekend workMandatory use of safety equipmentOur CultureOur work is centered on our People and Culture as reflected in our Zero Distance philosophy and we recognize the importance of reaffirming our commitment to inclusion and diversity (I&D).
