Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Main Operating Room position requiring Level 1 or 2 Trauma experience and both scrub and circulator skills.

Details

• Work in the Main Operating Room, assisting with Vascular Surgeon cases in OR and Hybrid Imaging suite
• Collaborate with a team of nurses and surgical techs for Endo and Open cases
• Patient population ranges from outpatient to critical care inpatient, including Main OR (22 beds), ASC (8 beds), and Ortho (10 beds)
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Utilizes various surgical equipment including the DaVinci Robot
• EPIC EMR used
• Day shift schedule, 4x10, 06:30-17:00
• Weekend hours required as needed by facility
• Call requirements include any scheduled day, averaging 5 or fewer calls per 8 weeks
• Floating required as needed by facility

Requirements

• Active RN license eligible for Missouri licensure or current MO license required
• BLS certification from AHA required
• Minimum 2 years of Level 1 or 2 Trauma experience required (teaching hospital experience considered)
• Scrub and OR Circulator experience required
• No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize comfort and outcomes
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality in accordance with facility standards
• Highly motivated self-starter personality preferred
• Black scrub color required; jeans and unprofessional attire not permitted
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1, with no declinations accepted
• Physical demands include standing and walking most of shift, pushing/pulling/lifting up to 50 lbs, and minimal kneeling, crouching, or crawling
• Up to 5 days of requested time off allowed, must be made up during the assignment
• Local candidates accepted within 50 miles, subject to reduced bill rate and limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before required separation or transfer outside the radius
• First-time travelers may be considered if experience requirements are met
