Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room/Surgery
The unit cares for a diverse patient population, including:
- Pediatric
- Adult
- Geriatric
This position involves managing a range of surgical cases, including but not limited to:
- Pain management (injections/Kyphoplasty)
- Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT) procedures (ear tubes, tonsils, sinus, thyroid)
- Urology procedures (cysto, TURP, PCNL, Lithotripsy, robotic sacrocolpopexy, partial kidneys)
- Gynecological surgeries (Total lap hysterectomy, ablations, lap gyn, D&C)
- Podiatry procedures
- General surgeries (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernias)
- Orthopedic procedures (hip pinning, knee scope, shoulder scopes)
Work hours are from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, full-time availability required.
Candidates must have the following certifications:
- BLS certification via AHA
- ACLS certification via AHA
- PALS certification via AHA
- RN License in the state of employment or compact
The competent Registered Nurse (RN), with experience in a similar clinical setting, will demonstrate independent practice and an understanding of situational nuances. The RN will provide both routine and complex care, focusing on long-range goals and strategies to manage clinical contingencies effectively. Responsibilities also include making appropriate assignments and delegating tasks to other care providers as necessary.
- Align with the required competencies, including leadership of self and others.
- Deliver nursing care using the nursing process, encompassing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
- Address and manage the complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families.
- Administer medications and treatments according to appropriate protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
- Assess the learning needs of patients and their families; provide education and identify resources as needed.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.
BLS certification mandatory.
RN License in the state of employment or compact.
The position is full-time with a schedule from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
