Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Qualifications:

• Hold an active North Carolina Professional Educator License in Deaf and Hard of Hearing, or qualify for NC licensure through reciprocity.
• Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred.
• Proven ability to work with PreK–12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to deliver services exclusively on-site.

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and support aligned with each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).
• Partner effectively with teachers, special education personnel, related service providers, administrators, and families to ensure comprehensive student support.
• Conduct educational and functional communication assessments; actively participate in developing and monitoring IEPs.
• Keep accurate records and uphold compliance with district, state, and federal requirements.
• Contribute thoughtfully to IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
• Foster academic, social, and communication development for students within a welcoming school environment.

Assignment Details:

• Contract runs from August 17, 2026, through June 4, 2027.
• Part-time schedule: 29 hours per week.
• Serve a diverse PreK–12 caseload.
• Utilize systems such as ECATS and Infinite Campus.
