Auditor

Responsibilities Perform detailed audit procedures on financial statement account balances, prepare and adjust work papers from clients’ trial balance. Research accounting issues. Recognize potential problem areas in specific engagements and discuss them with engagement supervisor. Participate in the engagement planning process. Perform other accounting, auditing, and consulting duties as needed in engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel. Assume full responsibility (under supervision) for preparation of compiled and reviewed financial statements. Assist with more complicated segments of audit and accounting engagements. Draft annual financial statements, including footnote disclosures. Become proficient at preparing financial statements using the firm’s software programs. May train other staff auditors. Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting. Two or more years of audit experience. Current CPA license and public accounting experience a plus but not required. Well‑rounded knowledge of accounting principles; knowledge of GAAS, GAS Yellow Book and GAGAS a plus. Proficiency in use of computers and computer accounting software programs such as ATX, QuickBooks, and Creative Solutions. Good oral and written communication skills. Good time management and organizational skills. Some travel may be required. Compensation and Benefits Starting salaries competitive with salaries for similar positions in the private sector.
