Project Buyer I

SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking a Project Buyer I that willbe responsible forworking with project teams and suppliers topurchasematerials, supplies,equipmentand services. Minneapolis, MN RESPONSIBILITIES Establish andmaintainrelationships with suppliers:solicitbids, analyze quotations, interview prospective suppliers, and select suppliersalong with evaluatingsupplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery time Work with manager to develop profitable purchasing strategies and propose procurement solutions that deliver value and reduce risk Create andmaintainprocurement logs for each supported operating group project Negotiate and prepare purchase agreements andpurchaseorders. Ensure suppliers adhere to contractual terms and conditions, including timeliness and quality standards Negotiate with suppliers topurchaseitems and services at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, and specification requirements Analyze individual markets, handlebudgetand increase margin on a regular basis, track trends inpurchasinghabits Track order status from time of placing order until delivery and communicate status to project teams Visit project site to better understand project team challenges and develop streamlined procurement processes to be implemented QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, construction management or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience Minimum 2 years of experience Current driver’s license Knowledge of construction processes, equipment and materials,purchasingprocesses and procedures Negotiating, organizing, planning,verbaland communication skills Strong customer service and analytical skills Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback A few benefits offered include: (for Non-Craft & Non-Union Craft working 25+ hours / week) Medical and prescription drug plans that includes noadditionalcost vision coverage Dental plan 401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson match Paid time off, holidays, and other paid leaves Employer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insurance No-Cost mental health tool and concierge   with extensive work-life resources Tuition reimbursement Adoption Assistance Gym Membership Discount Program The base pay range for this role is $68,700- $92,800. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
