Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide nursing care to patients and families in the back & pain procedure suites.
• Provide support through phone triage and InBasket work
• Provide nursing care to patient's pre and post procedure.
• Assist physicians during procedures: administer and monitor IV sedation.
• Provide patient education to patients and families.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement program.

Required Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
• Three (3) years current experience (within last three years) providing care to adult populations requiring sedation/monitoring as an ED, ICU, Flight Nurse or similar procedural unit providing sedation.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Experience starting IV?s
• Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking skills in daily practice: assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple interventions simultaneously.

Salary & Nursing Framework Level This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C . Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire. Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F. Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period. Applicants who have left the UMPNC bargaining unit must include on their resume dates of past employment including months and years of service along with effort. Positions less than 20 hours/week may be combined.

Work Schedule

• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift/ Days: Day shift, Variable days of week to include possible weekends. Flexibility required to meet the business need of clinic
• Location: Burlington Building
• Note: All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census
