As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper sterilization and handling of surgical instruments and equipment. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining the quality and safety of the healthcare facility's operations.

Utilize sterilizers, sonic cleaners, biological readers, and washers effectively
Follow all policies for cleaning and disinfecting equipment in the decontamination area
Rotate inventory and assist with ordering implants and supplies
Communicate effectively with other departments and follow up on requests
Utilize physician preference cards and the case cart system
Consistently use Sterile Processing Microsystem (SPM) for tray assembly and sterilization
Perform biological testing and maintain documentation within SPM
Participate in departmental in-services and assist in training new staff
Complete daily rounds and ensure instruments are cleaned and restocked
Inspect and inventory loaner and consignment trays and instruments
Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and departmental cleaning procedures
Attend an online course to obtain sterile processing professional certification within two years of hire
