Senior Psychologist, Correctional Facility (Specialist) Agency: California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) Location: Regional Office, Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino County, California Salary: $11,369.00 – $14,633.00 per month Employment Type: 12‑Month Limited Term – Full Time (may become permanent) Overview Under the direction of the Regional Mental Health Administrator, the Senior Psychologist, Correctional Facility (Specialist) provides direct assistance to correctional institutions by: Identifying and removing obstacles to mental health service delivery Monitoring corrective action plans and ensuring compliance Mentoring staff and facilitating best‑practice training Participating in quality management and continuous quality improvement processes Traveling up to 50% of the time to support institutions statewide Minimum Requirements Doctorate in Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from an accredited institution Valid license as a Psychologist issued by the California Board of Psychology Minimum of three (3) years of progressive clinical practice in a correctional or high‑security setting Demonstrated experience in quality management, data analysis, and program evaluation Special Requirements Possession of a California Board of Psychology license Physically able to travel and work in correctional facilities Availability to work non‑traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays when required Working Conditions Hybrid telework arrangement; must report to the regional office as needed Up to 50% travel throughout California Must reside in California upon appointment Benefits Competitive salary with potential $10,000 one‑time recruitment stipend Monthly recruitment differential for the first year (totaling $20,000) Eligibility for referral bonus of up to $5,000 for current CDCR/CCHCS employees Health, dental, vision, 401(k) and other state employee benefits (subject to eligibility and service requirements) Application Deadline Final Filing Date: July 13, 2026 EEO The State of California is an equal opportunity employer to all, regardless of age, ancestry, color, disability, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, marital status, medical condition, military or veteran status, national origin, political affiliation, race, religious creed, sex, sexual orientation, and other protected categories.
