Registered Nurse - OB/GYN

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized obstetric and gynecological nursing care for patients throughout labor, delivery, postpartum, and recovery phases. Flexibility to support medical-surgical units when not assigned to OB/GYN duties is required.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess obstetric patients during labor, delivery, postpartum, and recovery stages.
• Administer medications and perform clinical interventions according to care plans.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and recovery processes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Float to med-surg units as needed, maintaining high-quality nursing care across departments.
• Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license and valid obstetric nursing certification.
• Proven experience in labor and delivery, postpartum, and recovery areas.
• Ability to adapt quickly to float assignments on med-surg units.
• Strong assessment skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and patient advocacy skills.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
