We are seeking a responsible Fleet Mechanic and Facility Maintenance Person to be able to conduct pre-trip inspections, perform maintenance and repairs on distributor trucks, street sweepers, dump trucks, and pickup trucks. You will work with the Fleet Manager for diagnosing/troubleshooting and repairs that are needed. You must be able to conduct field visits when needed. You will complete PM services, tire rotations, and brake checks as well as assist in ordering parts, accepting deliveries and maintaining/organizing shop inventory and general shop upkeep. Medical, dental, vision and short-term disability available after 30 days Company provided life insurance Matching 401k after one full year of employment Boot allowance after 30 days $60 per day per diem paid in cash for overnight travel Private hotel room when traveling Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent oral and written communication skills, analytical skills, time management skills Attention to detail, quality focus Must be tech savvy and proficient using and iPhone/iPad, Microsoft software and industry/company specific software such as Cummins Insite Must have a basic working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems with basic trouble shooting skills Qualifications Minimum age of 21 Valid driver's license with reliable transportation High school diploma or GED Satisfactory completion of post-secondary education in diesel automotive repair Must be willing to travel overnight to fix equipment on job sites approximately 50% of time. Class B CDL is preferred or willing to obtain within one year of employment. The company will reimburse up to $750 upon passing the class Environment and Physical Requirements Perform physical activities that requires considerable use of your arms and legs such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, and handling materials Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Physically capable of performing all duties as assigned Perform duties in various weather conditions (some yard are outdoors).
