We are a growing software company in Virginia Beach looking for an Accountant / Office Administrator.  This hands-on role spans office administration, bookkeeping, HR, and operations. Perfect for a versatile multitasker with well-rounded administrative experience.   This can be a part time or full-time position.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
• Perform day-to-day accounting activities.  Support Audits.
• Post bills, track accounts payable and follow-up on accounts receivables
• Prepare and submit payroll to our payroll processor, including managing deductions, benefit contributions and related activities
• Maintain the general ledger and supporting sub accounts
• Prepare and send invoices to customers
• Assist in monthly expense reporting and ensuring accuracy and compliance with indirect rate structures
• Preparation of monthly expense reports and analysis
• Perform Sales tax collection and remittances to government agencies
• Assist in creating purchase and/or sales orders
• Support project accounting and contract administration tasks
• Perform HR administration
• Review and process employee time and expense reports
• Perform office administration tasks

​ Qualifications:

• Previous experience in accounting. Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
• Demonstrated experience in using Quickbooks and Microsoft Office products
• Familiarity with project accounting and indirect cost structures
• Knowledge of cash and accrual accounting
• Experience in Accounting entries (Accounts payable / Accounts Receivable)
• Understanding of journal entries and financial statements
• Ability to reconcile accounts
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of government billing and contract types

Desired Skills/Experience

• Accounting experience for Cost Reimbursable/Firm Fixed Price/Time and Materials Contracts.
• Experience with Indirect rate structures
• Current or past government security clearance.
• Familiarity with Government FAR and DCAA guidelines

Education :
• Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
