This onsite position is in Melbourne, FL.The Staff Engineer Electronics in this role will serve as the Avionics Deputy Lead and must possess in-depth knowledge of Avionics for mission processing in addition to personnel and operations management and will be responsible for one or more of the following:Perform Control Account Management (CAM) dutiesCoordinate with technical leadership in a cross functional Integrated Program Team (IPT) to meet program cost, schedule, and technical objectivesServe as DOA for programmatic and technical meetings, presentations, and reviewsDrive to completion Avionics preparation for SETR events with the customerDevelop and deliver presentations to customers, management, and other program stakeholdersInterpret, allocate, tailor, write and flow down requirements to all levels of a system architectureAnalyze/Review Trade studies, documenting subsystem architectures, analyzing performance, and evaluating Technology Readiness Level (TRL) with regard to supplier current and future products offeringsManage completion of document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams and specificationsCollaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to ensure effective integration of avionics subsystems to meet platform mission objectivesTechnical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration and test supportBuilding supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selectionReview documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviewsBasic Qualifications:Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 12 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Master’s degree from an accredited university AND 10 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.Must have an active Secret clearance that is in-scope (granted or renewed within the last 6 years) with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.Demonstrated experience in the Integration and testing of aircraft flight deck/mission Avionics systems and components including Position, Navigation, and Timing, Flight Displays & Controls, and other various avionics systemsDemonstrated experience with supplier/subcontract management, working on a multidisciplinary team and/or writing technical proposalsExperience with Earned Value ManagementExperience with Risk and Opportunity ManagementExperience with integration of COTS electronics into military systemsExperience in COTS / MIL-COTS hardware functional design and performance analysisExperience with trade studies, documenting subsystem architectures, analyzing performance, and evaluating Technology Readiness Level (TRL) regarding supplier current and future products offeringsExperience with system modeling and requirements management tools (Cameo, DOORS, Rhapsody, JIRA, Confluence, etc.), developing/maturing requirements, and tracing requirements through various levels.Experience leading/guiding teams through product definition and implementationExperience communicating with and presenting to senior leadershipDemonstrated proposal, budget & scheduling proficiency and business acumenExperience collaborating on large interdisciplinary teamsPreferred Qualifications:Active Top Secret clearanceMaster’s or Ph.D Degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or a Master's in Business AdministrationProject Management Professional (PMP) CertificationPilot Certification (Commercial, Test Pilot school graduate)Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and managementPrimary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
