Job Summary

Bon Appétit Management Company is seeking a service-oriented and highly organized Assistant Café Manager to support the daily operations of a corporate dining café serving approximately 750 guests. This position partners closely with the Café Manager and culinary team to ensure exceptional guest experiences, efficient operations, and seamless service execution.

The Assistant Café Manager will help oversee one café and two micro-kitchen locations, directly supporting a team of approximately five associates per shift. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who enjoys developing team members, delivering outstanding hospitality, and maintaining operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing day-to-day café and micro-kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional service and hospitality standards.
• Lead, coach, and develop front-line associates while fostering a positive and engaging team culture.
• Maintain strong relationships with guests, clients, and internal partners through proactive communication and service recovery efforts.
• Support staffing, scheduling, labor management, and daily workforce planning to meet operational needs.
• Ensure all food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace safety standards are consistently maintained.
• Monitor food presentation, product quality, merchandising, and service execution to enhance the guest experience.
• Assist with inventory management, ordering, receiving, and product accountability initiatives.
• Partner with culinary, facilities, and client teams to ensure seamless daily operations across the café and micro-kitchen locations.
• Support special events, client meetings, catering activities, and other operational initiatives as needed.
• Assist in implementing new company programs, service enhancements, and promotional initiatives.
• Evaluate operational processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, guest satisfaction, and team performance.
• Maintain accurate operational records and support reporting requirements as directed by management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, Foodservice Management, or a related field preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in foodservice, café, hospitality, restaurant, or retail dining operations.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Experience working in a high-touch customer service environment.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Experience with scheduling, labor management, inventory controls, and daily operational reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and foodservice management systems.
• Ability to lead by example and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
• ServSafe certification preferred.

• Scheduled days off every Monday and Tuesday
• Wednesday-Friday: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Saturday-Sunday: 7:00 PM - 4:00 AM
• Consistent, set schedule with no rotating shifts
• Opportunity to lead operations during both peak café service periods and specialized overnight business functions
