Renaissance Birmingham Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa in Birmingham, Alabama is seeking an accomplished Executive Sous Chef to help lead a diverse, high-volume culinary operation spanning restaurants, banquets and catering, room service, bar and lounge offerings, and more.

Working alongside the Executive Chef, you'll be a key leader in bringing the resort's culinary vision to life. You'll lead and develop culinary talent, drive consistency and execution across multiple outlets, manage the operational and financial details behind a successful kitchen, and ensure every experience reflects our standards for quality, creativity, and hospitality.

How You Will Make An Impact

• Lead daily culinary operations across the resort, partnering closely with the Executive Chef to ensure exceptional execution, quality, consistency, presentation, and service.
• Develop and inspire the culinary team through hands-on leadership, training, coaching, and clear expectations while ensuring staffing levels support guest demand and financial objectives.
• Drive culinary excellence and innovation by maintaining recipes and standards, researching and testing new products, and bringing emerging culinary trends and ideas into the operation.
• Deliver exceptional banquet and outlet experiences by collaborating with the Banquet Chef and Restaurant and Catering teams to ensure seamless execution across the property's diverse food and beverage operation.
• Manage food cost and kitchen performance through accurate production planning, portion and waste controls, inventory and resource management, and attention to departmental expenses.
• Maintain exceptional safety and sanitation standards while ensuring compliance with food-handling requirements and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
• Protect the operation and its resources by overseeing kitchen equipment maintenance and supporting appropriate management of culinary supplies, uniforms, and other operational needs.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a culinary leader who combines creativity and passion for food with the operational discipline required to lead a complex resort kitchen.

• 5+ years of experience leading a culinary team, with strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food cost, production, inventory, purchasing, and sanitation.
• A hands-on leader with the ability to coach, motivate, develop, and hold a culinary team to high standards.
• A passion for culinary excellence with a commitment to exceptional quality, consistency, presentation, and memorable guest experiences.
• Strong organization and the ability to successfully manage multiple outlets, priorities, and service demands in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Ideally, formal culinary education preferred. ServSafe certifications required to comply with applicable local and state codes.
