MedSurg RN - Night Shift (4x12 Hour)

Location: New York

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Shift: Night 4x12 Hours (19:00 - 07:00) - Every other weekend required.

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced MedSurg RN for a critical care step-down unit (IMCU) in a tertiary care hospital. The role involves providing evidence-based care to adult, acute care patients who require more specialized medical attention. The patient population consists of those transitioning from the Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department, and medical-surgical floors. You will be responsible for continuous telemetry monitoring, airway management, and IV therapy management while ensuring a high standard of patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7.
• Interpret dysrhythmias and manage emergency responses.
• Administer IV therapy and perform phlebotomy.
• Care for patients requiring titrated medication infusions, arterial line management, and central line care.
• Utilize EPIC charting system for accurate documentation.
• Provide respiratory support and perform airway management.
• Ensure compliance with isolation precautions and other patient safety protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 1 year of MedSurg RN experience required.
• Current New York RN license required (in hand).
• Certifications: BLS and NIHSS are required.
• EPIC charting system experience is mandatory.
• Previous charge experience is preferred.
