Behavior Specialist

Schedule: Full-time 40 hours/week Monday–Friday Role Overview The Behavior Specialist supports the delivery of high-quality Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions within Rogers Behavioral Health treatment programs. The specialist is trained to assess behavior function, develop and implement individualized plans, provide training and education to patients and support persons, collaborate within an interdisciplinary team, and monitor progress of behavior interventions to produce the best outcomes for patients. Responsibilities Provide cognitive behavioral and other therapeutic services, including groups, to patients in accordance with clinical standards of care and under the supervision of the Clinical Leader. Participate in supervision sessions, communicate regularly on patient progress, and adjust care plans based on observations and response to interventions. Monitor the effectiveness of interventions, administer outcome measures, review results, and modify interventions as needed in consultation with the Clinical Leader. Document mental health services accurately and promptly, ensuring treatment plans, outcome assessments, psychosocial information, and other patient care data are completed within the medical record. Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and assist in development of the treatment plan. Communicate treatment interventions and support needs to interdisciplinary team members and support systems. Offer training support to direct care team members less familiar with CBT interventions. Provide training and education to parents or support persons on how to support CBT interventions and behavioral treatment plans. Ensure patient safety and the safety of the facility. Support staffing/scheduling changes when program and patient care needs require. Perform additional duties as assigned, such as maintaining knowledge of department processes, pursuing self-directed learning, fulfilling continuing education opportunities, and participating on committees, task forces, and work groups as determined by management. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s Degree required (human services, psychology, social work, or a related field). Minimum of a valid Substance Abuse Counselor‑in‑Training credential (or state equivalent) if working in an Addiction Recovery program. Relevant Cognitive‑Behavioral Treatment (CBT) experience (12 months preferred). Experience may include clinical care, human services, or an educational equivalent. Required On‑the‑Job Training Compliance with Residential Care Center (RCC) and Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) requirements. American Heart Association CPR certification within 30 days of hire; bi‑annual recertification required. Training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) within 60 days of hire/transfer; annual recertification required. CBRF trainings within 90 days of hire.
