Description
  • Assess patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Create tailored treatment plans targeting achievable short-term goals alongside overarching communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions honing in on communication, language fluency, voice quality, and swallowing processes.
  • Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to cultivate comprehensive care strategies.
  • Provide education to patients and families to support progress between clinical sessions.
  • Occasionally conduct inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless patient care throughout the treatment journey.
  • Keep accurate and timely records in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Engage in ongoing education and peer collaboration to stay updated on the latest advancements in the field.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies for individuals of all ages, with a solid grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills to engage with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Able to tailor therapy techniques to meet a wide array of cultural and linguistic needs.
  • Strong clinical judgment coupled with problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable navigating electronic medical records and documentation requirements.
