This contract role is based at a local high school and specifically supports one student within the Life Skills program, focusing on providing consistent guidance and a nurturing environment. The assignment begins August 21, 2026, and concludes June 4, 2027, following the academic calendar for a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, averaging 35 hours per week. The typical workday runs from 7:15 am to 3:00 pm, with some flexibility as schedules evolve.

Key Qualifications:

• Experience working as a paraprofessional, particularly in school settings
• Previous involvement with students who have autism or require behavioral support preferred
• Strong ability to remain calm and redirect behaviors effectively
• Comfort and capability managing maximum behavioral needs
• Commitment to providing 1:1 support and maintaining student safety
• Professional, patient, and consistent approach with students

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide immediate, individualized assistance to the assigned student throughout the school day
• Support inclusion in classroom activities and encourage peer interactions
• Help maintain the student’s routine and manage transitions to minimize disruptions
• Work closely with teachers and specialists to implement educational plans and behavioral strategies
• Monitor for signs of elopement and implement interventions to keep student in a safe environment
