Senior Estimator

Morrow-Meadows Corporation is accepting applications for a full-time Senior Estimator for its Electrical Division in Poway, CA.

Responsibilities:

\n
• Collaborate with team members on selections of projects to pursue
\n
• Interface and communicate with clients on bids
\n
• Build strong relationships with customers and at times attend and coordinate social functions
\n
• Work closely with the Business Development Manager and frequently visit clients and assist with business promotions
\n
• Support our preconstruction team as necessary in pursuit of their opportunities
\n
• Review contracts on potential new jobs won and assure the contracts include our exclusions and clarifications and reflect our bid scope
\n
• See that estimating documents are properly filed and organized at all times
\n
• Use technology to assure we are estimating at maximum efficiency and accuracy
\n
• Train and mentor junior estimating staff as necessary
\n
• Assist with negotiating prices and purchases as necessary
\n
• Organize and lead kick off and hand off meeting on projects that are won
\n
• Work closely with operations on large bids and collaborate to ensure bids are complete and reflect our resource availability
\n
• Ability to commute to Morrow-Meadows Corporation project sites for Estimating support
\n
• Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
\n
• Analyze electrical, mechanical, architectural drawings and other documents to prepare time, cost, materials and labor estimates
\n
• Prepare and submit bid RFI’s and maintain log
\n
• Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors and solicit quotes
\n
• Review quotes for completeness with plans & specs
\n
• Prepare and maintain bid folder
\n
• Prepare new construction and remodel electrical estimates using ACCUBID Estimating system
\n
• Attend job walks and pre-bid meetings
\n
• Provide electrical budgets and rough order magnitudes as requested
\n
• Provide value engineering and cost alternatives as necessary
\n
• Thoroughly read project specifications and general conditions
\n
• Meet with clients to discuss and review estimates
\n
• Interface and work closely with Morrow-Meadows Corporation Subcontractors and Vendors Support and attend business development functions after normal work hours
\n
• Build and maintain lasting relationships with our customers
\n
• Prepare detailed proposals as required by our customers when necessary
\n

Requirements:

\n
• Minimum 7-10 years experience in the electrical construction industry
\n
• Previous estimating experience required including projects up to $15mil in electrical value
\n
• Strong electrical knowledge in commercial construction including low voltage systems
\n
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Estimating Systems (ACCUBID Preferred)
\n
• Customer focused
\n
• Strong leadership and managerial skills
\n
• Team oriented and able to work well with others
\n
• Detail oriented and organized
\n
• Strong communications skills
\n
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks at the same time
\n
• Ability to work with tight schedules/deadlines
\n
• Ability to work late when necessary
\n
• Engineering familiarity preferred
\n
• Familiarity with the electric code

The compensation range for this position is: $130,000.00- $185,000.00 Compensation offered may vary based on work location, experience, qualifications, specialty, training, and market and business considerations, among other factors.
