Job Summary

TYLin's Buildings team brings creativity and technical excellence to new and existing buildings around the world. Our primary services, structural engineering for buildings, include new construction projects, as well as renovation, adaptive reuse, and historic preservation. Within that broad range, we offer further expertise in specific services including architectural services, code consulting, façade engineering, lightweight structures, and construction support services. We are seeking an entry-level Structural Engineer to join our TYLin | Buildings team in Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Work with the project team to prepare structural design and drawings for buildings (commercial, institutional, residential) from conceptual and preliminary stages of design through to completion.
• Perform field review for projects under construction.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering (with a focus on structures preferred). Master's Degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
• Passing of E.I.T. exam preferred.
• 0-3 years of relevant experience in the execution of commercial, institutional, or residential projects preferred.
• Familiarity with REVIT Structure preferred.
• Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.

• High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.
• Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.

Additional Information

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $36 - $41 per hour for this position and local market.
