Collections Specialist

Staff AccountantPosition Summary: The Staff Accountant, Accounts Receivable will be an integral part of the Accounting team focusing on the collection of receivables for Avendra FF&E Services, US and Canada Divisions. This position will directly support the efforts to improve cash flow and increased cash collections.Job ResponsibilitiesImprove cash flow by increasing collection effortsProactively identify problematic accounts to senior managementAnalyze, document and report customer issues to Avendra FF&E Services salesReconcile customer accounts to apply cash and assist with resolving billing discrepanciesPrepare collection letters to customers, as requestedProcess daily cash receipts for checks, ACH and wiresPrepare journal entries as neededManage refund process by identifying and assigning refunds on a monthly basisReconcile specified general ledger accounts on a monthly and quarterly basisPrepare A/R reports for monthly financial package for reviewManage the Creditsafe matching process by identifying and assigning accounts on a quarterly basisSecondary ResponsibilitiesConduct month and year-end closing procedures to ensure the accuracy of Avendra ReplenishmentAssist with developing and generating reports to monitor Replenishment receivablesIdentify and participate in process improvements to improve and streamline Replenishment accounting functionsServe as backup to Accounting Administrator and Accounts Receivable Manager when neededServe as backup with processing Credit Card transactions when neededAssist with other Avendra International collection activities when neededPrimary CompetenciesQuality & Continuous ImprovementResults OrientationRelationship BuildingEffective Written and Oral CommunicationsTaking InitiativeBusiness ConductQualificationsProficiency in Accounting software, Excel and WordWell-organized, able to effectively manage multiple prioritiesExcellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with an ability to build relationships with all levels of management, field operations, and corporate business partnersAbility to take the initiative, to think out-of-the-box to resolve issues and identify opportunitiesExperience in collecting receivables preferredExperience in performing account or customer reconciliations preferredEducation Requirements: BS/BA in relevant field requiredCompensation: The salary range for this position is $45,000-$63,000.Benefits: Aramark offers comprehensive benefit programs and services for eligible employees including medical, dental, vision, and work/life resources.
