AVIR at Brownwood is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our rehabilitation team. We are currently hiring for Full-Time and Per Diem opportunities .

Our in-house rehabilitation program provides an excellent opportunity to work collaboratively with residents, families, nursing staff, and other rehabilitation professionals to help residents achieve greater functional independence and improve their quality of life.

Position Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents' functional abilities, occupational performance, and rehabilitation needs.

• Develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans based on each resident's clinical needs and goals.

• Provide skilled occupational therapy services in accordance with established treatment plans and applicable standards of care.

• Implement therapeutic interventions to improve strength, coordination, balance, mobility, activities of daily living (ADLs), and functional independence.

• Monitor residents' progress and response to treatment and modify treatment plans as appropriate.

• Collaborate with COTAs, PTs, PTAs, SLPs, nursing staff, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.

• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, safety, adaptive strategies, and home exercise programs.

• Provide recommendations regarding adaptive equipment, positioning, safety, and strategies to maximize functional independence.

• Complete evaluations, progress notes, treatment documentation, discharge summaries, and other required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

• Maintain compliance with facility, state, and federal regulations and professional standards.

• Promote a compassionate, respectful, and resident-centered approach to care.

Qualifications

• Current Texas Occupational Therapist (OT) license in good standing.

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.

• Strong clinical, communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

• Experience in skilled nursing, subacute rehabilitation, or a similar setting is preferred.

• Compassionate and resident-focused approach to care.

• Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.
