Accounting Assistant – Part-Time 25-30 hours per week Hours: Monday – Friday 9 am – 2pm

Work Setting: On-site, in-office position with a private office

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our small-office team. This position is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on accounting experience in a real estate and property management environment.

The Accounting Assistant will support daily accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, assist with reconciliations, and help manage job and property-related financial information.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Preparing and recording journal entries

Completing bank reconciliations

Balancing and reconciling loan accounts

Processing intercompany billings in QuickBooks

Reviewing and auditing closed jobs

Closing completed jobs and rentals once occupied

Assisting with budgets for current and planned construction projects

Updating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets

Supporting other general accounting and administrative duties as needed

Qualifications

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

Experience using QuickBooks

Understanding of balance sheet accounts and general accounting functions

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to maintain accurate and confidential financial records

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Real estate, construction, property management, or housing-related experience is preferred but not required
