Overview
Speech Language Pathologist – Acute Care in Sitka, Alaska, United States. This travel assignment begins on 09/14/2026 for 13 weeks with guaranteed 40 hours per week. Shift pattern is four 10-hour days. The role is outpatient rehabilitation services within a clinical setting, focusing on SLP evaluations and treatments for adult and pediatric patients.

Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive speech-language pathology evaluations for pediatric and adult patients and establish a plan of care with goals.
- Provide evidence-based therapy interventions to improve communication, voice, resonance, fluency, and swallowing functions; adapt treatment as patient progress dictates.
- Document findings, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in the medical record per departmental and regulatory standards; communicate with referring providers and the health care team.
- Educate patients and families, develop and implement home exercise programs, and promote independence and self-management of impairments.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure appropriate equipment and discharge planning; supervise and collaborate with support staff, students, or interns as assigned.
- May involve travel to remote locations and multi-site care delivery as part of interdisciplinary care.

Requirements
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Alaska state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology (active at submittal)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Pediatric and outpatient experience required
- Ability to work in an outpatient clinic setting and travel as needed
