Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health

2nd shift (2:45pm-11:15pm)

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care, conduct patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate has behavioral health experience and a passion for supporting individuals with complex psychiatric needs.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate care plans.
Provide direct patient care, including admission and discharge assessments.
Administer medications and maintain accurate medication and clinical records.
Monitor controlled substances and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on treatment planning and patient care.
Manage assigned caseloads and participate in individual, group, and family therapy as appropriate.
Assist with crisis intervention and home visits as needed.
Maintain accurate documentation and support continuity of care.

Required Qualifications

At least 2 years of Registered Nurse experience; a BSN may substitute for 1 year of experience.
Current Connecticut RN license or qualifying multistate license.
Strong assessment, medication management, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a behavioral health hospital setting.
Experience working with youth with complex psychiatric needs.

Working Conditions

May require lifting or restraining individuals and working with patients exhibiting challenging behaviors. Exposure to infectious diseases may occur.
