About the Position

The unit has 25 beds with patient ratios of 4:1, which may increase to 5:1 during surges. When staffing allows, there is a unit secretary and patient care technicians available. Type of equipment used includes GE monitors, Baxter pumps, and Zoll travel monitors. Documentation is performed using MediTech Expanse. Staffing requirements include working 36 hours per week with every other weekend scheduled as required. Strong communication skills and the ability to make personal connections with patients are essential. Advanced skills in emergency department competencies are necessary. Procedures performed in the unit include emergency department competencies. The required uniform is navy blue scrubs.
