Details 207-bed hospital in Charlotte, NC recognized as a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center, with no trauma designation and not a teaching hospital Home unit assigned on the first day of orientation, which may include Med/Tele overflow, Ortho Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, or other Medical Telemetry units Patient populations vary by unit and may include CHF, COPD, stroke, cardiac arrhythmias, renal disease, GI conditions, and post-surgical patients such as total joint replacements and spinal surgeries RN to patient ratio of 1:5-6, with critical surge ratios up to 1:7-8; CNA ratio of 1:6-12 12-hour night shift schedule from 1900-0700, totaling 36 hours per week Weekend rotation required every other weekend with no on-call responsibilities Utilizes Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing system, and Philips monitors Floating required within Region 3 facilities (Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, Central Division) as needed within scope of practice Requirements Active RN license (NC or Compact) Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 18 months of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required General Med/Tele skillset required, including stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, and drain/tube management Experience managing medication drips including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IV fluids Epic EMR experience required Ortho and spinal precaution experience required for consideration for the 7N/S Ortho Surgical unit Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration At least one professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN Additional Information Support team includes CNAs, HUC/receptionist, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, resource nurse, and 24/7 RT, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage Orientation includes New Employee Orientation plus two days of departmental orientation Holiday coverage required for 75% of designated holidays Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved excluding holidays; unmet contracted hours must be added to the end of the assignment Navy scrubs required and free parking provided Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position First-time travelers not preferred but will be considered Previous employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least one year after completing a permanent position Manager conducts a final clinical interview as part of the selection process American Traveler Job ID P-745540.
