Duties Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow‑up repairs on light, medium and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling, starter/alternator, fan clutch, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, gas and diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials. Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck systems using handheld computers, pressure gauges, and other test instruments. Road test vehicles to confirm proper function and accuracy of repair. Identify problems and evaluate alternatives using sound judgment. Independently manage parts inventory and reconcile it on the company‑issued service truck. Maintain and operate the service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and perform pre‑/post‑trip inspections. Engage clients to assess needs, provide information or assistance, and resolve problems or satisfy expectations. Prioritize concurrent tasks and manage time effectively. Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, and lifts/jacks. Document work on Repair Orders using the company‑issued iOS device and the TRAIT application, uploading photos of work performed, parts used, and findings. Complete DOT forms accurately and on time. Work independently, managing daily schedules. Maintain high productivity and meet or approach standard repair times. Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as needed. Communicate with management and support via email or phone to obtain approvals, retrieve purchase order numbers, or discuss findings. Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT). Maintain the company‑issued service truck and perform daily pre/post‑trip inspections. Requirements High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of experience in a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). At least 3 years of experience working with refrigerated equipment. Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for performing the required job duties. OEM training and certifications are preferred. Participate in and complete all company–required training. Must be able to successfully complete a DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment. Candidate must possess a current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months of validity remaining, or otherwise complete a DOT physical. Must be 21 years or older. Valid driver’s license required; ability to maintain a Driver Qualification File.
