EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required Education Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology Experience 2 years of relevant experience. Licenses and Certifications (BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) within 90 days. (ACLS) ADV CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) within 90 days. Preferred Education Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology JOB DUTIES Demonstrates principles of exercise and disease management, practices good clinical judgment, progresses patient appropriately and safely during exercise, provides education to patient and family regarding patient’s disease process, and demonstrates awareness of patient’s and family’s readiness and ability to learn. Performs and documents physical, psychosocial, and emotional assessments during initial evaluation, identifies appropriate interventions based on initial evaluation, writes complete plan of care with specific, time‑based goals for each intervention. Re‑evaluates plan of care and exercise program to determine effectiveness, utilizes critical thinking skills to monitor patient’s progress, reports any physical changes to physician in a prompt manner. Prepares for patient discharge, assures that patient’s and family’s goals for rehabilitation have been met, displays good knowledge of patient’s resources and needs. Works to improve departmental standards of care through updating educational material and providing in‑services to staff. Organizes patient treatment time and provides patient education. Documents all aspects of patient’s care and continued need for rehabilitation. Reports errors promptly and takes appropriate follow‑up action to rectify error. Serves as patient and family advocate, responds to patient’s and/or family’s complaints, reports complaints to manager or their designee in a timely manner, and utilizes chain of command to resolve patient, operational, or personal work‑related problems. Assists willingly in coverage of other patients, performs insurance verification and re‑verification, assists with other departmental paperwork as needed. Participates in performance improvement activities as directed, attends at least 80% of scheduled staff meetings and 100% of mandatory educational sessions, assists in on‑job training, education, and supervision of students, and/or graduate nurses. Performs other duties as assigned.
