Tire Shop Associate

Balances, installs, and rotates tires. Stocks tires and batteries and repairs tires. Answers questions, makes recommendations, and assists members with purchasing/returning tires and batteries. Provides a high level of member service.

Job duties include locating member cars in the tire shop area of the lot, listing body damage on service order, driving member vehicle into install bay and onto hydraulic hoist, raising the auto, removing the wheel using an impact gun, rolling the wheel to the mounting machine, removing the tire from the wheel, cleaning the hub and wheel rim with a wire brush, attaching a new valve stem, mounting a new tire on the wheel, filling the tire to the appropriate air pressure, operating the automatic balance machine to get a reading of proper weight and placement to balance the wheel, attaching weights (including tape weights) to rims with a weight hammer, mounting wheels to auto using the impact gun according to Tire Shop procedures, repairing flat tires for members and non-members, assisting members in determining tire and battery needs, answering questions, making product recommendations, selling tires, invoicing tire purchase and service invoice, loading tires on dolly or rolling tires to the install area, alerting the supervisor or manager to complete torque check and 10-point check and authorize vehicle release, parking member auto in lot, returning invoice and keys to sales desk, cleaning the installation area by sweeping, mopping, spraying, and wiping, stocking tires and batteries in the sales area in accordance with Tire Shop Manager's merchandising plan, ringing up orders, receiving accurate payment, making change, processing checks, credit and debit charges, giving out receipt and submitting order according to proper procedures, calculating refund amount for certain warranty returns of tires and auto batteries, communicating with Tire Shop Manager, Buyers, Receiving Departments, and Inventory Auditors regarding special orders, quantity, status, price, delivery, and promotion of merchandise, ensuring proper cleanup and disposal of potentially hazardous materials spills, ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery, assisting with department duties as necessary, assisting in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
