About the Position

Job Title: Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MS/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role required. Previous charge experience preferred. Travel experience required. License: Current nursing license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Experience with a patient ratio of 5:1. Ability to float between campuses as needed. Familiarity with accessing and managing ports. Knowledge of BiPAP/CPAP management. Experience in blood product administration. Skilled in cardiac telemetry. Central line care and management experience. CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident) knowledge. Feeding tube care and management experience. Familiarity with heparin protocols and high flow nasal cannula (HFNC). Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias. Experience with isolation precautions and PPE. Management of dysrhythmias expertise. Proficient in oxygen administration and management of oxygen tanks. Skilled in peripheral line care and management. Experience with PICC line management. Pre/post-hemodialysis management expertise. Experience in renal failure management. Ability to start and maintain IVs. Experience with surgical drains and wound care. Knowledge of telemetry monitoring. Experience with tracheostomy care and management. Familiarity with the use of rapid response/code teams. Knowledge of wound care and wound vac. Description: Responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a med-surg telemetry setting. Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care. Manage a patient load of 5 patients per nurse. Observe, assess, and intervene based on patients' needs. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. Utilize communication skills effectively to educate patients and families on care plans. Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the healthcare team. Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives. Adhere to all safety and infection control policies. Engage in ongoing professional development and education. Provide support to patients with a variety of diagnoses, primarily in the med-surg category. Ensure compliance with clinical policies and protocols. Demonstrate effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor in all interactions.
