Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist
Location: Hawthorne, NY
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Our client, a well-established nonprofit organization in Westchester County, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to provide temporary support to their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on accounting experience in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Process high-volume, paper-based accounts payable transactions
- Review invoices for accuracy and proper coding
- Match invoices with supporting documentation
- Enter AP data into the accounting system
- Maintain organized vendor files and AP records
- Assist with resolving invoice discrepancies
- Support the finance team with additional administrative and accounting tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Previous Accounts Payable or general accounting experience preferred
- Recent Accounting graduates are encouraged to apply
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Comfortable working in a manual, paper-based environment
- Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced setting
- Strong communication skills and willingness to accept constructive feedback
- Experience working in a nonprofit organization is a plus
